Martin Crosbie and Helga Zeiner – 9/18

Self publishing.

eBooks.

These are two of the buzziest terms in the book universe right now, and we are thrilled to host an evening with two amazing writers who are doing stupendously well with both.

On Wed., Sept. 18th, as part of our 2013-2014 Local Author Series, self-published author extraordinaire Martin Crosbie will read from his newest book and discuss his incredible writing odyssey.

Described by an Amazon press release as one of their success stories of 2012, Martin’s self-publishing journey has been chronicled in Publisher’s Weekly, Forbes Online, and the Globe and Mail. His debut novel, My Temporary Life has been downloaded over 150,000 times and became an Amazon top 10 overall bestseller. He’s since self-published three other books: My Name Is Hardly, Lies I Never Told – A Collection of Short Stories, and How I Sold 30,000 eBooks on Amazon’s Kindle – An Easy-To Follow Self-Publishing Guidebook.

Check out this interview with Martin about his process:

Joining Martin is Helga Zeiner, a bilingual German-Canadian author who has self-published two novels. She will read from and discuss the writing process of her newest, Birthdays of a Princess, which is a literary thriller. Section 132, a novel about a polygamist Mormon sect in the BC wilderness, was her first self-published book.

This event is free but please register at nvclauthorseriesseptember.eventbrite.ca

Doors will open at 6:30 for snacks, wine and other beverages. If you are interested in writing, self-publishing, the eBook industry, or marketing/promoting your creative work, you definitely want to see these two!
