kc is the author of multiple young adult novels and works as a freelance writer, speaker and educator here in North Vancouver. She is a director and long-time participant at the Surrey International Writers’ Conference, a mentor with Creative Writing for Children in Vancouver, and a writer-in-residence at New Westminster Secondary School.
On the 15th, she’ll be reading from her most recent novel, Facing Fire, a sequel to her YA novel, A Walk Through a Window. Both are page-turning historical narratives about characters who risked everything to make their way to Canada. Main character Darby witnesses first-hand the Underground Railroad, the expulsion of the Acadians, and the lead up to the War of 1812.
The Globe and Mail said this about Dyer: “If you want fantastical, suspenseful fiction with your history, then a book by kc dyer is your route.”
We are really excited to host her. Please join us at 6:30 for refreshments in the Paul Singh room on the third floor of the library before the reading begins at 7pm. For more information, visit here, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
