Community Reader Profile: Richard White

Name: Richard White

Job Title: Director of Community Development for the City of North Vancouver

Best book I have read this year: Jonah Lehrer’s How We Decide  – probably more than a year ago but it is still the one I recommend most.

Best place to curl up with a book on a rainy day: At home in a place with lots of light.

Best place to lounge with a book in the sun: Anywhere subject to the prevalence of flying and biting insects.

A book I know I should read, but haven’t: With the Library nearby, I don’t need to miss any books – there are some that I don’t get through, though – Anna Karenina comes to mind.

A guilty pleasure favourite: I like popular musician autobiographies like Keith Richard’s and Clarence Clemons’, or Bob Dylan’s Chronicles – they are always interesting and sometimes very well written too.

The book I push on all my friends because it is soooooooo good: I try to share a lot of books without being too pushy – I also really liked the Paul Schaffer autobiography We’ll be Here for the Rest of our Lives, and gave away several copies to inflict my tastes on others.
