Name:  Heather Turner

Job Title: Director of Recreation, North Vancouver Recreation Commission

Best book I have read this year:  It’s a tie: Still Alice, by Lisa Genova – a must-read for everyone about the challenges of Alzheimers, and The Art of Racing in the Rain, by Garth Stein – a fun read because we all think we know what a dog is thinking!

I will read any book by:  Diana Gabaldon, Lawrence Hill and many others.

Best place to curl up with a book on a rainy day: In a comfy chair by the fire, preferably at a cottage.

Best place to lounge with a book in the sun: Absolutely anywhere; preferably on a beautiful beach or at a cottage (do you see a theme here?)

A book I know I should read, but haven’t: The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak – several people have told me it’s a great book but I’m currently reading two others – two at a time is my limit or I get plots and characters confused!

A guilty pleasure favourite: Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series

The book I push on all my friends because it is soooooooo goodThe Book of Negroes, by Lawrence Hill.
